This is a typical geomembrane installation supply case from our daily export work: a customer who needed a watertight pond for fish farming and irrigation, and who wanted one supplier to provide the liner, the welding rod and the technical support for installation. The project shows how a complete HDPE liner supply — not just the membrane rolls — makes a smooth and reliable geomembrane construction.

Customer Requirement
The customer planned a pond of about 1,500 m² for fish farming. The bottom was sandy soil with scattered small stones. The key requirements were: the pond must hold water all year round, the liner must last at least 10 years, and the local crew had no prior experience with HDPE geomembrane installation. The customer asked us for a complete package — material, accessories and installation guidance.
Material Supply
We supplied smooth HDPE geomembrane 1.0 mm thick, enough for the floor and slopes plus a 10% allowance for overlaps and repairs. Because the subgrade was sandy, we also supplied a 200 g/m² non-woven geotextile cushion. For the seams we supplied HDPE welding rod in 4.0 mm diameter, 5 kg coils, together with the recommended overlap width and weld parameters for the 1.0 mm liner.
Delivery and Site Preparation
We delivered the rolls and accessories to the project site with clear loading instructions so the rolls were not bent or scratched. On site, the crew first compacted and levelled the pond bottom and removed all sharp stones, then laid the geotextile cushion over the entire area. Only after the base passed a hand-check for sharp objects did the crew begin to unroll the liner.
Installation and Welding Support
Our technical guidance covered the whole geomembrane installation sequence: panel layout to minimize seams, overlap of 100–150 mm, anchoring with sandbags, and thermal welding of the long seams. For corners and pipe penetrations the crew used extrusion welding with the supplied welding rod. We sent step-by-step photos and answered questions remotely so the local crew could finish the job correctly on the first attempt. Testing and Handover
After welding, the crew tested every seam with an air pressure test and visually checked the weld beads. The pond was filled and held water with no visible leakage. The customer accepted the project and has since ordered liner for a second pond. This case shows that successful geomembrane construction depends as much on the quality of the material and the technical support as on the liner itself.
