Grass Grid Supply Case: Green Parking Lot and Slope Protection Project

This is a grass grid supply case from our export work: a customer who needed to turn the ground around a new logistics warehouse into a green parking area and a grass-covered slope, and who wanted one supplier for material, delivery and installation advice. The project shows how the right grass paver selection and a complete supply package deliver a green, load-bearing surface in a short time.

Customer Requirement

The customer had about 1,200 m² of hardstanding that had to be returned to green space without losing the ability to park cars and light trucks. There was also a 20 m long embankment slope next to the building that kept eroding after rain. The requirements were: a load-bearing grass grid parking surface, slope erosion control, low maintenance, and delivery within two weeks.

Material Selection

We recommended a 50 mm high HDPE grass grid for the parking area, with a compressive strength suitable for cars and light trucks, and a deeper interlocking grid with anchor pins for the slope. We supplied the panels with clip connectors and the anchor pins, and advised on the base layer: 150–200 mm of compacted aggregate under the parking area, and a geotextile layer on the slope to stop soil wash-out.

Delivery and Installation Support

The panels arrived in flat-packed modules that click together on site. We sent a simple step-by-step installation guide with photos: compact and level the base, lay the grid panels and clip them, anchor the slope panels with pins, fill the cells with topsoil and sow the grass seed. Result

Four weeks after sowing, the parking area was covered with green grass and cars were parked on it without damaging the surface. The slope stayed in place through the following rainy season. The customer was satisfied with the result and ordered an extra batch of grass grid panels for the entrance driveway.
