Luoping Geomembrane Can Prevent Leachate Contamination

The revolution in engineering waterproofing technology has directly brought about a major improvement in environmental pollution, and the main materials of this technology rely on environmentally friendly materials such as geomembrane and GCL waterproof blankets. These two materials are also more commonly used in sewage treatment plants or landfill storage sites. Controlling wastewater pollution through the structural characteristics of these two materials is currently a more widely applied solution.

Nowadays, the anti-seepage layer of landfills has been changed from the original double-layer geotextile plus anti-seepage membrane to multi-layer geotextile plus waterproof blanket plus double-layer geomembrane. Under such multi-layer anti-seepage construction conditions, the anti-seepage of the entire landfill can be said to have reached a relatively high usage requirement, effectively controlling the polluted liquid to the surrounding environment. The main reason for using multi-layer anti-seepage is to allow the waterproof layer to have other layers of geomembrane for anti-seepage if one layer is perforated by gravel. It has played a good role in environmental protection for the entire site area.

Geomembrane and waterproof blanket, the construction of these two materials is completely different. One is connected through bentonite, and the other requires hot melt welding. Of course, in terms of weight, the weight of waterproof blankets greatly exceeds that of geomembranes, usually 4 kg and 5 kg per square meter, and the weight of one roll can almost reach 300 kg. Therefore, in terms of construction, waterproof blankets are relatively bulky. Although geomembranes also have 300 kg ones, they can be dragged and unrolled through brackets, which is relatively easier. But no matter which material, for anti-seepage projects, high sealing performance is required to prevent leachate from flowing into soil or groundwater.

With years of development, the anti-seepage technology of landfills is also constantly changing. I believe that based on years of engineering experience, an engineering project that can protect the environment can be created.
