How to Install Prestressed Corrugated Pipe for Post-Tensioning

How to Install Prestressed Corrugated Pipe for Post-Tensioning
Prestressed corrugated pipe is the duct that forms the channel for prestressed tendons in post-tensioned concrete structures. Correct installation directly affects the tensioning effect and the durability of the structure.
Step 1 - Positioning: according to the design drawing, fix the corrugated pipe at the correct position and curve in the beam mold with positioning bars or spacers. The deviation should not exceed the design tolerance.
Step 2 - Connection: when multiple pipes are connected, insert the joint and wrap it tightly with tape to ensure airtightness. The joints should be staggered to avoid weak points at the same section.
Step 3 - Sealing: seal both ends of the pipe to prevent cement slurry from entering during concrete pouring. The grouting vent and air outlet should be set at the highest and lowest points of the curve.
Step 4 - Inspection: after concrete pouring and before tensioning, check the duct with a through-ball test to ensure the channel is unobstructed. Then thread the tendons and carry out tensioning and grouting.
