I. The raw materials of prestressed corrugated pipe are mostly produced by extrusion using recycled HDPE particles. Its characteristics require high raw material strength and good flexibility, so that the produced pipes can meet national standards. The main production areas of prestressed plastic corrugated pipe raw materials are concentrated in China. Several early domestic raw material manufacturers, due to early involvement in the field, have relatively mature technology, production capacity and services. Because these enterprises entered early, they occupy the main field in the raw material supply of prestressed plastic corrugated pipes.
Raw material supply covers nationwide regions. The corrosion resistance of prestressed corrugated pipe is far superior to metal, not afraid of acid and alkali corrosion, it itself does not corrode, and can effectively protect prestressed tendons from corrosion. Many prestressed structures are severely affected by external factors, such as deicing salts or salt water. When post-tensioned members suffer from waterproof layer collapse, micro-crack water leakage and drainage facility blockage or failure, prestressed tendons may be corroded. The "Grouting of Prestressed Tendons" in the "FIP Construction Guide (1990)" points out that metal pipes do not have permanent anti-corrosion capabilities and are insufficient to resist water leakage and reach the grout and prestressed tendons. Prestressed plastic corrugated pipes can provide a far better barrier protection for prestressed tendons than metal corrugated pipes, preventing harmful substances from penetrating the pipeline pollution, thereby ensuring better durability of post-tensioned prestressed structures;

Under the same conditions, the friction coefficient of the reserved holes of prestressed plastic corrugated pipes is significantly smaller than that of metal corrugated pipes, reducing the friction loss of prestress during tensioning. Generally, the friction coefficient of plastic corrugated pipes is 0.14, while that of metal corrugated pipes is 0.25; prestressed plastic corrugated pipes have high strength, not afraid of stepping pressure, not easily broken by vibrating rods, their sealing performance and anti-leakage performance are higher than metal corrugated pipes, more suitable for vacuum grouting;
