Our company supplied 20,000 meters of prestressed corrugated pipe to a bridge precast beam plant in Yunnan, used for the prestressed tendon ducts of box girders and T-beams, with diameters of 50 mm, 70 mm and 90 mm.
Because the beam plant produces beams in batches, the corrugated pipe needs to have good rigidity and airtightness to prevent slurry leakage during grouting. We recommended the corrugated pipe with reinforced spiral steel wire inside the plastic wall.
During use, the workers cut the corrugated pipe to the designed length, inserted it into the beam mold and fixed it according to the curve of the prestressed tendons. The connection between pipes was sealed with special connectors and tape.
After the grouting test, no slurry leakage or pipe deformation was found, and the prestress tensioning proceeded smoothly. The customer confirmed that our corrugated pipe has stable quality and uniform wall thickness, and plans to order in batches for the whole year.
