Quality inspection of plastic grass grid pavers protects both the buyer and the project. This article lists the main checks that should be performed before accepting a grass grid delivery, whether for a parking lot, slope protection or landscape project.
Dimension and Tolerance Check
Measure the panel length, width and cell depth with a caliper. Most standard grass grid panels keep a tolerance of around ±1-2 mm on the outer dimensions. Panels outside the tolerance may cause alignment problems during installation.
Material and Color Check
Confirm the raw material grade, normally virgin or recycled HDPE/PP, and check the color consistency between panels. Surface defects such as bubbles, shrinkage marks or rough edges should be noted and sampled for further testing.
Mechanical Property Sampling
Take samples from the delivery for compression strength and tensile testing according to the agreed standard. The interlocking clip strength is checked by assembling two panels and measuring the pull-out force.

Packing and Documentation
Check the packing condition, pallet quantity and batch number. The delivery should include the test report, quality certificate and packing list. Keep one reference sample from the batch for future comparison.
Acceptance Record
Record the inspection results and mark the accepted and rejected quantities clearly. A complete inspection record makes the acceptance process smooth and provides traceability for the whole batch.
