Rubber plastic insulation products, including board and pipe types, are widely used for cold and hot pipe insulation. The quality should be checked by the apparent density, thermal conductivity and dimensional stability.
Apparent density is measured according to the standard method. A sample of specified size is weighed and the density is calculated. The value should be within the range required by the product standard.
Thermal conductivity is the key index for insulation materials. It is tested by the guarded hot plate method. The lower the thermal conductivity, the better the insulation effect.
Dimensional change after heating is tested by placing the sample in a constant-temperature oven for a specified time and measuring the change in length and width. The material should not shrink or expand excessively.
Surface quality should be uniform, without bubbles, cracks or obvious color difference. Each batch is provided with a factory test report, and third-party testing can be arranged according to customer requirements.
