Kunming polystyrene board
Speaking of environmental protection, the use of extruded polystyrene boards plays a role in energy saving, but does it itself pollute the environment? This more or less exists. First is water pollution and air pollution, because extruded boards need to cool the raw materials during the granulation process, through water cooling. Also, a large amount of smoke is generated during production, and these smoke more or less have certain hazards, so professional smoke exhaust equipment is also required for treatment. Three strong environmental protection principles are reduce, reuse and recycle. Since extruded polystyrene foam insulation can reduce energy loss in buildings, it can reduce (i.e., reduce) the energy (gas and electricity) required to maintain a comfortable living environment.
The more widely XPS foam insulation is used, the greater its impact on reducing the consumption of natural resources such as coal, oil and natural gas.
Polystyrene resin is a thermoplastic material, which means it can be melted and re-produced (i.e., reused) into the manufacture of new extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam insulation materials. Extruded polystyrene manufacturing plants produce almost no waste or scrap, because almost 100% is recycled, crushed and re-granulated for use in the production system (i.e., recycling). Some companies even seek external sources of waste polystyrene plastic resin for reuse.
In addition, extruded polystyrene foam can be made from recycled materials. However, there is currently no infrastructure to economically collect building materials contaminated by nails, glue, etc. If the situation changes, once contaminants are removed from the product, XPS foam can be easily recycled.
Since extruded polystyrene foam is used in structures with a 15 to 50 year lifespan, its impact on waste disposal is often small compared to traditional materials that may need to be replaced more frequently.
