
In every building we see today, a large amount of wiring is involved. These wires can be any type of wire, such as electrical wires, data communication cables, etc. To manage a large number of wires, cable tray systems are used to support insulated cables for power distribution, control and communication. Cable trays serve as an alternative to open wiring or electrical conduit systems, commonly used for cable management in commercial and industrial buildings. They are particularly useful anywhere changes in the wiring system are expected, because new cables can be inserted by laying them within the tray rather than pulling them through conduits.
Cable tray is a very effective tool for managing messy wires. Using grounded metal barriers on the road to separate power cables and data/communication cables, a single large cable tray (cable tray) installation can arrange an oversized number of wirings. It avoids the possibility of chaotic conductors that are difficult to trace when making changes or finding faults.
Since cable trays run along the perimeter of areas within a room, power and information conductors will enter and exit at multiple locations, thus moving within the raceway to the point of use. For cable trays terminating at outlets, listed cable tray clamps or adapters secure the cable tray to the cable tray system.
A variety of trays are used in completely different applications. Solid-bottom trays (trays) can provide the greatest degree of protection for cables, but require cutting the tray or mishandling fittings to enter or exit cables. The deep and sturdy enclosure for cables is called a cable channel or cable trough.
Channel trays:
It provides cost-effective support for cable introduction and branch cables from the main cable tray system. Channel cable tray outlets are used for installations where it is not desired to limit the number of outlet cables when passing through.
Ladder-type cable trays:
Ladder-type cable trays consist of two longitudinal side channels connected by individual transverse channels, providing system strength through smooth radius fittings and multiple materials/finishes. This type of cable tray has a sturdy enclosure that protects cables from falling objects, dust and water.
Cable baskets:
Lighter cable trays are mainly used where there are a large number of thin cables, such as telephone or computer network cables. These types of trays are made of metal wire mesh and are called "cable baskets".
Large power cables set within the tray may require support blocks to handle the spacing between conductors to prevent wire heating. Smaller cables may also be set unsecured in horizontal trays, or secured with cable ties to low positions of vertically installed trays.
To support cables when the height or direction of the outlet changes, we have created an oversized range of specialized cable tray fittings that are compatible with various styles and manufacturers. Horizontal elbow modifications guide the tray in the same plane, as the tray bottom and 30', 45' and 90' degree forms; inside and outside elbows are used for changes perpendicular to the tray bottom. These will come in various shapes along with tees and crosses. Therefore, adjustable elbows are also manufactured, which can be used for installing trays around obstacles or around irregular shapes.
